The Farmers House Art at the Farm

Art at the Farm

The purpose of Art at the Farm is to offer a creative environment where participants can create artwork that allows personal expression, reduces anxiety and encourages collaboration.  Local artists and teachers facilitate the evening program on the second Thursday monthly.  Artists are grouped to allow those of similar age and abilities to create  art for personal enjoyment.  This setting provides a wonderful opportunity for much needed social interaction and opportunities for Farmers to create lasting friendships.

The Farmers House Flour Sack Baking

Flour Sack Baking

The goal of the Flour Sack Baking Program is to provide training which which facilitates social interactions, independence and self-esteem while learning to safely prepare food, bake, and package products. There is a special sense of accomplishment felt by our Farmer’s as they blend quality ingredients while working with one another to create a product which will be served during a Farm to Fork Catering event or sold in the Farmer’s House Market. Currently, the program is offered at three locations. Every Tuesday, Farmers can join Jeff Denton at Platte Woods United Methodist Church from 6:00-7:30, for more information about weekly activities contact Jeff Denton. On the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, Flour Sack Baking is offered at The Farmer’s House kitchen in Weston and on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month Flour Sack Baking is held at The Second Presbyterian Church in Brookside. For more information about the Flour Sack Baking Program contact Kelly Cogan.
