TheFarmersHouse Virtual Programming

Through virtual programs, our goal is to keep Farmers connected with their friends and their natural community supports during this period of social distancing. Using technology (computer, tablet or phone) to video conference with other Farmers, staff and community members, our Farmers are continuing to learn, staying connecting and maintaining structure and meaning in their daily lives.

To individualize programming and allow for choice, we  have setup Google Classrooms for our staff to access and engage with Farmers in the areas of:

  • Healthy Minds & Lifestyles
  • Art in Action
  • Number Sense
  • Movement Matters
  • Community Connections, etc.

Prior to COVID-19, we were providing supported employment via technology to encourage autonomy and natural supports for our Farmers while on the job.  Through virtual Employment Services, we are providing benefits education and helping our Farmers continue exploring their individual vocational interests, hobbies, preferred activities, and skills.  Farmers are also practicing interview skills and providing online virtual interview opportunities with community business members.
